- <p> This time it's Mike Tyson's fortune he's seeking to reverse.
- Fabled Claus von Bulow miracle worker ALAN DERSHOWITZ has argued
- that the ex-heavyweight champ's 1992 rape conviction should
- be overturned, largely because the trial judge precluded a crucial
- line of defense, one that would have allowed attorneys to claim
- that Tyson truly believed his accuser, Desiree Washington, had
- consented to sex. Dershowitz also faulted the judge for blocking
- the testimony of three witnesses who would have stamped a pronounced
- question mark on the young beauty contestant's credibility.
- One claimed to have seen Tyson and Washington "necking" before
- the alleged rape took place. Boasts Dershowitz: "This is the
- strongest appeal I've had in 29 years of practice."
